Mrs. Elle Teubert6th Grade Teacher
I joined the staff in January 2019 but my journey with St. Matthias began long before then. St. Matthias was my home parish growing up, having attended Mass and Sunday School every week. I received my First Eucharist, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation all at St. Matthias in my youth, and most recently the sacrament of Holy Matrimony when I was married here in July 2020. I am beyond grateful that God brought me back to St. Matthias as a teacher. It is truly the greatest pleasure getting to work with these amazing colleagues, students, and families. I have my bachelors degree in Education from Cardinal Stritch University with minors in Literacy and Spanish. I have previously assisted with the school musical, and am an assistant coach for the Forensics team.
I love teaching in general, and absolutely love teaching 6th grade. In 6th grade my goal is to give students ways to critically and creatively think and apply understandings. My favorite moments are ones in which we can discuss and build community. I believe all students can be successful with support and guidance. Throughout the year I embed project based learning into each core subject. Students also attend classes for Physical Education, Music, Library, Art, and Project Lead the Way (a STEM class). We use technology in the classroom for various assignments, and focus on collaborative group work in many lessons. Students contribute to our classroom community and strengthen their faith by sharing prayer requests and praises through a shared class Google Document. In 6th grade students bridge the gap between elementary and middle school, gaining independence, confidence, and a faith fueled compassionate community!
