The foundation of our growing Catholic identity begins at a young age. In our Sunday Morning Program, we offer Christian Formation classes for students from K4 through the 8th grade. In this program, students meet 3-4 times monthly to engage in activities, lessons, and discussions to explore the Catholic faith.
The Sunday Morning Program meets from 9:30 am – 10:45 am, 3-4 Sundays per month. Parents are encouraged to attend the 8:00 am Mass with their children.
The 2021-2022 Christian Formation Year is underway!

What Christian Formation Will Look Like This Year
As we move forward with Christian Formation for the upcoming year, please be reassured that the safety and wellbeing of your children and our catechists will be our main concern. St. Matthias is and will be continually committing to adhering to the protocols and safety guidelines of the city of Milwaukee.
With that being said, St. Matthias will strive to fit the needs of every family. So even though the restrictions have lessened due various factors, we understand that some families will prefer to currently withhold from an in-person learning model. So, we have prepared two options for the formation year for families:
One option is an in-person learning environment. In this model students will be placed in grade-level groups inside classrooms utilizing the parish school buildings with a catechist. Students will receive a book that will be used for the entirety of the year. Students and catechists participating in this model will be expected to follow all protocols and guidelines laid out in our Christian Formation handbook.
The other option is an at-home instructional environment. If you choose this model for your family, the Director and Coordinator of Lifelong Faith Formation will reach out to you to talk about your specific needs.
Check – all checks should be made out to St. Matthias. Please send them to the Parish Office using the address on the first page of this letter.
